Foster, Nancy

Nancy Foster joined the National Renderers Association as its president and CEO in November 2013. The NRA represents the interests of the rendering industry interests to regulatory and other governmental agencies, promotes greater use of animal by-products, and works to open and expand trade between foreign buyers and North American exporters. Nancy is also the president of the Fats and Proteins Research Foundation. This foundation funds research to enhance quality and expand uses of rendered products in the feed industry. Its research also helps the rendering industry meet regulatory and customer expectations for safety and sustainability. In addition, Nancy serves as the Secretariat of the World Renderers Association. Prior to the NRA, Nancy was president of the U.S. Apple Association for eleven years where she directed lobbying, regulatory, PR and crisis communications programs in order to promote profitable production and marketing. During her career, Nancy has worked for the U.S. Secretary of Agriculture on policy issues and managed national government relations programs for the pesticide, biotechnology, dietetics and soybean industries. She also served on EPA and USDA Advisory Committees, and is past president of the Food Group, a Washington, D.C.-based organization of food companies and associations. Nancy is currently a member of the Washington Agribusiness Club, the Washington Ag Roundtable and the Washington Caucus. Nancy graduated from Smith College, and studied at Cornell University and the Universidad de los Andes in Colombia. She and her family live in Arlington, Virginia.
